News conference at the Arizona Capitol announcing new legislation based on Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s investigation findings.

State Representative Carl Seel, who introduced the bill, was joined by Sheriff Joe Arpaio, State Senator Lori Klein, and others in support of the bill. Important new information was revealed during the news conference including a request by Sheriff Joe Arpaio to the current head of the Selective Service Board to investigate the criminal forgery committed in the case of Barack Obama’s Selective Service registration. Inaddion, Carl Seel reveals some of the resistance that other Republicans are creating to stop the bill from even heading to a vote.

The bill will require Barack Obama, or any candidate seeking to be on the Arizona ballot, to certify eligibility for the office they are seeking. This will essentially require Barack Obama to certify his eligibility if he wants to be on the ballot this year in Arizona. This could potentially be a game-changing piece of legislation.

A pilot, who had to be restrained after a mid-flight outburst about Al-Qaeda and a bomb threat, is now in FBI custody, the head of JetBlue airline said Wednesday.

“That was a tough situation at altitude. The customers, the crew, just did a great job,” said JetBlue chief executive and president Dave Barger, speaking to NBC television’s “Today Show” program.

“That was a true team effort at 35,000 feet (10,000 kilometers) yesterday.”

He made his remarks one day after a JetBlue flight from New York to Las Vegas, Nevada was diverted to Amarillo, Texas for an emergency landing after the pilot suddenly began screaming about terror threats outside the cockpit.

Barger told NBC that the harrowing incident was under investigation by the airline and by US aviation officials.

“Obviously the captain is now in the hands of medical care. Obviously under the custody of the FBI,” Barger said, adding that there was no hint of medical or psychological problems or any evidence that he would pose a flight risk.

Reports said the pilot, who was also the captain on the flight, went to a restroom just outside the cockpit and when he emerged began shouting “Iraq, Al-Qaeda, terrorism, we’re all going down!”

Footage filmed with a cell phone camera and broadcast on US television showed chaos at the front of the plane, as male passengers scrambled to help restrain the pilot, who could be heard shouting hysterically.

Airline officials said an off-duty pilot, who had been traveling on the flight as a passenger, entered the cockpit before landing at Amarillo and took over the duties of the restrained pilot, who was transported to a local medical facility in Amarillo strapped to a stretcher.

“I’ve known the captain personally for a long period of time. There’s been no indication of this at all in the past,” Barger said, calling the pilot “a “consummate professional.”

A very one-sided Rep. Bobby Rush was kicked off the US House floor for wearing a hoodie as a prop during his speech on Trayvon Martin.

How come this Congressman did not make a similar stand when a 13 year old white boy named Allen Coon was lit on fire by two 16 year old black males? The similarities are that they are both extremely tragic, especially when children are involved.

Allen Coon was not killed but was badly burned by older black teens who deliberately targeted him for being white. Race was clearly a factor in that case.

“You get what you deserve, white boy” while attempting to immolate him using gasoline and a match. Allen had to call 911 himself, and hopefully will not suffer the loss of his eyesight or other permanent injuries. When Congressman Booby Rush does not stand up for all children but only those that have his skin color one must assume he has a long way to go with his own prejudices. I understand the passions for the Trayvon Martin tragedy.

I also think it is another tragedy to see how these far left Democrats are using the Trayvon Martin tragedy for political gain. This one-sided agenda hurts race relations and does not represent a positive direction in bringing people together. Stand up for all victims but do so without becoming a mob looking for vigilante justice without knowing all the facts. The evidence needs to be looked at with with-out prejudice and a political agenda.

Australia on Wednesday said it may allow Washington to use its territory to operate long-range spy drones, as part of an increased US presence in the Asia-Pacific that has rankled China.

The United States and Canberra are planning a major expansion of military ties, with the first of a 2,500-strong Marine deployment to northern Australia unveiled last November by President Barack Obama due to arrive next month.

The plan has irked Beijing and worried some Asian countries who see it as a statement by Washington that it intends to stand up for its interests in the region amid concerns of increasing assertiveness by China.

Australian media carried reports Wednesday citing a Washington Post story that the United States was considering using the Cocos Islands, atolls in the Indian Ocean off northwest Australia, to launch unmanned surveillance aircraft.

They said the Cocos, which has a population of around 600 people, would replace the present US Indian Ocean base of Diego Garcia, which America leases from Britain and is due to be mothballed in 2016.

Aircraft carriers and nuclear-powered attack submarines could also be based in Perth as part of efforts to refocus American defence resources in the region, the reports added.

Australian Defense Minister Stephen Smith said the use of the Cocos Islands was a longer-term option for closer Australia-US engagement and its airstrip would need to be upgraded before it could be used.

“Cocos is a possibility… it’s a long-term prospect and should be treated as such,” Smith told ABC radio.

“It’s not currently ideal because one of the first things that we would have to do… is a substantial infrastructure upgrade, particularly so far as the airfield is concerned.

“That’s one of the reasons why this is very much a long-term prospect.”

An upgrade would cost anywhere between Aus$75 to Aus$100 million, he added stressing that Australia’s neighbours had nothing to fear.

“We have been transparent about these matters,” he said.

The Cocos are seen as an ideal location to base unmanned patrol planes to keep watch on the world’s busiest shipping routes and the South China Sea, where territorial claims are seen as potentially dangerous flashpoints.

China, Taiwan, the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia and Cambodia all claim territory in the area.

Smith said the key priorities in closer US cooperation were the rotation of Marines through the Northern Territory, greater air access and more use of the HMAS Stirling base in Perth.

Kurt Campbell, the US assistant secretary of state for East Asian and Pacific affairs, was in Australia last week to discuss the first deployment of 250 Marines next month and other defence issues, he added.

Hugh White, a defense analyst at the Australian National University, said Australia was being viewed as a “strategic asset” by the US as it monitors China’s rise.

“I think what we are seeing here is fundamentally a very significant shift in US strategy,” he said.

The United States currently has only a limited deployment in longstanding ally Australia, including the remote Pine Gap satellite spy station near outback Alice Springs.
