Good grief! Are we all living in some sort of alternate universe? How could a reformed bum like Bernie Sanders ever have been seriously considered for any elected public office?

Check out these facts from his wretched biography as reported by Investors Business Daily (emphasis added):

His family [did manage] to send him to the University of Chicago. Despite a prestigious degree, however, Sanders failed to earn a living, even as an adult. It took him 40 years to collect his first steady paycheck — and it was a government check … one of his first jobs was registering people for food stamps, and it was all downhill from there.

[He] tried his hand freelancing for leftist rags, writing about “masturbation and rape” and other crudities for $50 a story. He drove around in a rusted-out, Bondo-covered VW bug with no working windshield wipers. Friends said he was “always poor” and his “electricity was turned off a lot.” They described him as a slob who kept a messy apartment — and this is what his friends had to say about him.

Sanders spent most of his life as an angry radical and agitator who never accomplished much of anything. And yet now he thinks he deserves the power to run your life and your finances — “We will raise taxes … yes, we will.”

The only thing he was good at was talking … non-stop … about socialism and how the rich were ripping everybody off. “The whole quality of life in America is based on greed,” the bitter layabout said. “I believe in the redistribution of wealth in this nation.”

Amazingly, Sanders’ fervent supporters favor him not in spite of his wretched biography but because of it.

Wow.

If, without a lot of help, Hillary Clinton can’t defeat a deadbeat neo-Marxist parasite like Bernie Sanders, what does that say about her? And what does it say about an electorate who would cast precious votes for such a miserable example of an American?

Socialism, progressivism, statism, collectivism, communismand the Left’s perversely re-labeled liberalism has all been done before and it’s been done better. And its collective history is one of miserable failures, all too often with lethal consequences.

Even in America, as early as 1620, Leftism was tried and failed, also with lethal consequences. But the Pilgrims learned from that profound experience. Not so Sanders and his ilk.

Now Americans want to try Leftism all over again with Bernie at the helm? Lord have mercy.
